    Public Meeting #1

    To understand the concerns Karnes County residents have about natural disasters in their communities, The Langford Planning Team will host a public engagement opportunity during Karnes County Market Days or the Karnes County Resource Fair.

    Mitigation Strategy Development

    The Langford Planning Team will create a Mitigation Strategy outlining the strategic actions to be implemented over the next 5 years for each Core Team member.

    The Core Team will host a more formal public meeting for community members to come and review the data collected on the plan engagement hub and learn about the plan’s purpose and contents.

    HMP Full Draft Development

    A Draft Plan will be provided to the Core Team for feedback and suggestions. These edits will be incorporated into the document before the public viewing period.

    HMP Public Review

    The Core Team Members will post the Karnes County Hazard Mitigation Plan's Social Pinpoint on their websites to make sure residents get a chance to review and comment on the plan before a final draft is submitted to the Texas Department of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for review.

    Plan Submission to TDEM & FEMA

    For plan approval, a final draft will be sent to TDEM & FEMA and reviewed to ensure it meets all required elements.

    Local jurisdictions will also adopt and submit the HMP.
