Hazard Mitigation Planning Overview
Langford Community Management Services is partnering with the county's emergency managers and a planning team of key stakeholders to develop a Multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for the county and its incorporated communities.
This plan provides a coordinated strategy for reducing the impacts of natural, technological, and human-caused hazards. It focuses on two main components:
Risk Assessment – This section identifies and analyzes a range of hazards that may affect the area. Each hazard is evaluated to determine the specific risks and vulnerabilities faced by each participating jurisdiction.
Mitigation Strategy – Based on the risk assessment, this section outlines a set of actions designed to lessen the impact of identified hazards. The strategy includes goals and priorities, implementation steps, responsible parties, and a general timeline to guide execution and improve long-term resilience.
