The primary focus of this memo is to 1) evaluate how well Wimberley’s adopted development-related regulations support community resilience against the City’s most significant natural hazards and 2) recommend which sections of the Code should be prioritized to better align regulations with the objectives of the Comprehensive Plan.

The community survey results for the City of Wimberley revealed strong resident engagement and clear priorities for the city's future development. Respondents overwhelmingly valued Wimberley's small-town character, natural beauty, and environmental resources, with over 80% identifying these as critical assets to preserve.

Wimberley’s resiliency goals and objectives focus on protecting the community’s natural resources, quality of life, and small-town character while preparing for future challenges. Through proactive planning and community input, the City is working to ensure Wimberley can adapt to changing conditions, recover from disruptions, and thrive for generations to come.
