Wimberley "One Water" Special Study Draft Review
Because water is vital to Wimberley—not only as a source of drinking water, but as a defining feature of the City's identity, economy, and sense of place—the City’s new Resilient Community Program (RCP) Comprehensive Plan includes a special study, “One Water.” This study evaluates Wimberley’s water resources and provides forward-looking strategies for protecting water quality, conserving supply, managing stormwater, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
The One Water Study findings and recommendations will be fully integrated into the draft Comprehensive Plan, informing land use, infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and resilience strategies across the document.
As You Review, Please Consider:
- Water Quality: Do the recommendations adequately protect creeks, springs, and recharge features?
- Water Supply: Are strategies for conservation, reuse, and long-term supply clear and realistic?
- Land Use Compatibility: Do the proposed policies support development patterns that preserve water resources?
- Stormwater & Flood Resilience: Are runoff, erosion, and flood-risk challenges appropriately addressed?
- Environmental & Community Benefits: Do the recommendations reflect Wimberley’s values, rural character, and natural beauty?
- Implementation: Are the proposed actions feasible, understandable, and aligned with community priorities?
Your feedback will inform refinements for the final draft document. Thank you for helping shape a resilient, water-wise future for Wimberley.
